Powerpoint

 

 

INSERT—

·        New slide

·        Text box (to type text on your slide)

·        Picture (from clip art or from a file that you’ve saved from the internet. )

 

FORMAT—

·        Background (color, fill effects, or make a picture the background)

·        Slide Design -- (Design templates, Color schemes, Animation schemes)

 

VIEW

·        Normal—to edit the slides

·        Slide sorter—to rearrange the slides

·        Slide Show—to view the slide show.

 

IMAGES--Copy images from the internet (schools.clipart.com).  Paste them onto your slides.

 

EFFECTS—Go to SLIDE SHOW and choose “Animation schemes” or “Custom Animations”.  Controls will then appear on the right side of your screen.

 

HYPERLINK—

·        Highlight the words on your slide that you want to be the hyperlink. 

·        Then go to INSERT and HYPERLINK. 

·        Enter the web address in the “address” field at the bottom of the window and click OK.

 

MUSIC—

·        You must have the music file saved to the same folder as your Powerpoint file.  

·        Go to INSERT and MOVIES AND SOUND and SOUND FROM FILE. 

·        Find the music file that you saved.

·        Decide if you want the music to start playing automatically when the slide appears or if you want to control when it starts playing by clicking on the sound icon.

·        Right-click on the sound icon and choose CUSTOM ANIMATION.

·        On the right side of your window click on the down arrow by your song title and choose EFFECT OPTIONS.

·        Under “stop playing” click on the appropriate number of slides that you want the song to play through.

 

VIDEO

·        You must have the video file saved to the same folder as your Powerpoint file.

·         Go to INSERT and MOVIES AND SOUND and MOVIE FROM FILE. 

·        Find the video file that you saved.

·        Decide if you want the video to start playing automatically when the slide appears or if you want to control when it starts playing by clicking on the video icon.

 

 

Remember the 6 x 6 rule:  No more than 6 lines of text per slide—No more than 6 words per line.
