MS Word Help

 

Go to VIEW and TOOLBARS.  The following toolbars should be checked and showing:

1.     Standard (usually at the top)

2.     Formatting (usually at the top)

3.     Drawing (usually at the bottom or on the left)

 

 

PICTURES

1. Go to INSERT and PICTURE.  Find the picture to insert.

2. Select the picture and go to FORMAT and PICTURE

3. Click on LAYOUT

4.     Click on SQUARE and OK.  Now you will be able to move the picture around.

 

 

TEXT

1.     Go to INSERT and TEXT BOX.  Type you text and you can move the entire textbox

2.     Go to FORMAT and TEXTBOX

3.     Click on COLORS AND LINES

4.     You can then choose a background COLOR or choose “NO FILL”

5.     You can choose a LINE color or choose “NO LINE”

 

(HINT:  View your page at 50% or even 25%.  That way you can see the entire page on your computer to more easily place your items on the page.)

 

 

To change margins:

 

1.     Go to FILE and PAGE SETUP.

2.     Click on the MARGINS tab.  This is also where you change the orientation of the page.

 

To change default fonts:

 

1.     Go to FORMAT and FONT.

2.     Choose the font and size that you want.

3.     Click on DEFAULT.

 

To insert page numbers:

 

1.     Go to VIEW and HEADER AND FOOTER.

2.     Click on the #.
